Between the Flights is a television series produced by ZDF that was broadcast in 1973 and 1974 in the evening program (Thursdays, 6:25 p.m.). It is the first series on German television that describes what happened around an airport.
action
The series, in which there are no continuous roles, actors or acts, depicts various episodes that take place between take-off and landing at large or small airports. There is a travel company who is concerned about the punctuality and security of his plans. Disabled children arouse the displeasure of fellow travelers on a vacation trip. The two film stars Tom and Iris want to use a stopover at Frankfurt Airport for a short, undisturbed get-together, but are besieged by curious paparazzi . In order to impress his business partners, a company owner wants to transport them in his own plane, but risks almost too much.
Production staff
The production staff was the same for all 13 episodes. The interior recordings took place in the Hamburg studio . The ZDF editor in charge was Hans Peter Renfranz. The cameramen were Willy Jamm, Ronald Schmidt and Wolfgang Greve, the sound managers were Christian Dalchow and Reinhard Levin, the music was composed by Charly Nissen , the editing was done by Gertrud Dreyer and Noemi Ivich and the set by Dieter Reinecke , the costumes by Brigitte Lange. Siegfried Hofbauer was the production manager, Heidi Ramlow was the assistant director and Burkhard Mrosek was the production manager. It was an in-house production by ZDF.
Production notes
In 1972, director and actor Helmut Förnbacher shot the series Search for Dr. Suk . Due to the success he received from ZDF as a director for "Zwischen den Flügen".
