Martin Jente
Martin Erich Bernhard Jente (born January 6, 1909 in Görlitz ; † February 14, 1996 in Wiesbaden ) was a German journalist , actor and television producer .
Life
The son of an architect completed a commercial apprenticeship after graduating from high school. He attended the state theater school located at the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin under the direction of Leopold Jessner and took private lessons with Ernst Legal . From 1931 he was employed at the Deutsches Theater Berlin . From 1931 to 1938 he acted as a spokesman for the Funk-Hour Berlin (from 1934: Reichssender Berlin ). In June 1933 Jente was SS -member and was a member of the SS storm 1/6 in Berlin (ID no. 203494). On April 20, 1935, Jente was promoted to SS-Oberscharführer , and in September 1936 another promotion to SS-Hauptscharführer . He was also a member of the NSDAP ( membership number 3,472,834). From 1939 to 1945 he did military service with the rank of first lieutenant in the Navy as a war correspondent and later as an adjutant in the Führer headquarters .
In 1945 he founded the cabaret 'Die Hinterbliebenen' in Bad Reichenhall , of which he belonged until 1949. Jente later worked as a journalist for the Hessischer Rundfunk and wrote articles for the Frankfurter Neue Presse .
From 1956 to 1970 Jente worked as a television producer for Hessischer Rundfunk in over 500 entertainment programs, including One Will Win , Zum Blauen Bock and Ein Platz für Tiere .
Jente also appeared as the TV butler 'Herr Martin' on the show One Will Win . The ritual at the end of the show was legendary when he handed quiz master Hans-Joachim Kulenkampff a coat, hat, scarf and umbrella in tails and ended the show with an ironic punchline .
Then he worked u. a. as a comedian at the Kleine Komödie in Hamburg , at the Bernhard Theater in Zurich and at the Theater Die Komödie in Frankfurt am Main . Jente played as a film actor alongside Heinz Erhardt in 1971 in the film Our Willi is the Best (producer: Horst Wendlandt ). He also released several records building on his notoriety as a television butler.
Jente was married and the father of two children.
