action

The lovable tax officer Willi Winzig is retired. In order to supplement the small household budget, Willi is now looking for a sideline - especially since his sister Heidelinde and grandpa, daughter Biggi, two twin boys and a parrot have moved in with him because of lack of money.

His old friend Mümmelmann gives Willi a job as a representative for household appliances at the company 'Star Elektrik'. However, the lesson already suggests that the clumsy Willi was not born for this job. The tax officer pulls his bicycle trailer full of household appliances a. D. finally go.

At first, contrary to expectations, Willi seems to be a real salesman. There is only one catch: the old lady who buys rows of devices from him is not sane. And the good-natured agent grants his next customer a payment in installments over 12 years - hardly a lucrative business for 'Star Elektrik'. After he gave a poor little boy one of his devices as a present, Willi was fired.

Now he's out of a job, but with a pile of debts to 'Star Elektrik'. In this emergency situation, Willi has a saving idea: He will sell rows of coffee machines to the countless secretaries in the local tax office ! And although almost only computers do the work of the officials in the tax office , the clever Willi manages to land a huge order. From this moment he is the new star representative of 'Star Elektrik'. Not for long, though. Because when he got caught in the TV show of the TV cook Ilsetraut Knöpcke and caused one of his machines to explode in front of millions of viewers, he was fired again.

It is of no use that the likeable son of his boss has meanwhile fallen in love with Willi's pretty niece Biggi. Nonetheless, Willi was lucky this time: his bizarre television appearance was so enthusiastic that he was hired for other cooking programs.

criticism

Despite a poor script, the humorist Heinz Erhardt wears this comedy, in which he embodies a good-natured representative who becomes a television star. "(Heyne Film Lexicon)
