action

Architect Hannes Cremer has had enough: when he was asked to persuade the Klingenberg couple to renovate the hotel cheaply on behalf of his boss, although only an expensive renovation would really make sense, he gave Breitner his opinion and resigned. Since he is also in a relationship with Breitner's daughter Janine, he ends his relationship and travels to Seebruck in the Black Forest to see his grandfather, where he wants to leave everything behind.

Friends Renate, Ilse, Mucki and Babs are also out and about in the Black Forest. They go on a bike ride to see their friend Eva, who wants to get married in Wendlingen. However, it was difficult to persuade Renate to travel with her because her fiancé secretly married someone else.

On the way, Hannes and the four meet by chance; however, they soon part ways again. In Seebruck, Hannes not only meets his grandfather, but also his little cousin Annie, who is on vacation with grandfather because of her mother's illness. He in turn sold his two horses to the farmer Schwarzer in Langenbach - allegedly because they were too much trouble for him in his old age. At the grandfather's request, Hannes and Annie set off in the horse-drawn carriage to see Mr. Schwarzer to bring the horses to him.

On the way, the two meet again with the four young women who are looking for accommodation and are sent to the Räbele farmer by Hannes. Although Hannes and Annie were warned by their grandfather, they too stop at the Räbele, where a party takes place and the new cherry brandy of the season is tasted. A romance develops between Hannes and the budding vet Renate, even if Renate is not yet ready for a new relationship.

Hannes, Annie and the four friends cover part of the way in a horse-drawn carriage. Renate can also help when a horse has an accident at a nearby farm. After successful treatment, Renate and Hannes get closer when suddenly Janine appears looking for Hannes. Renate misinterprets the situation and leaves alone. Hannes explains to Janine that their relationship is over. Janine's father is now also looking for Hannes, as the Klingenbergs have agreed to an expensive renovation of their hotel if Hannes runs it.

They meet Hannes, who in turn has found out that Renate is in Todtmoos . He borrows his boss's car and drives to Todtmoos, only to see Renate closely embraced with another man. It's about the fashion photographer Harry, who accidentally knocked Renate over and brought her to the next inn to support her. Disappointed, Hannes drives back to Annie and the horses. He tells his friend Uwe, who came to the Black Forest from Hamburg as a carpenter , that it was over between him and Renate. This in turn hears Annie, whom Renate has taken into her heart. She goes to Todtmoos alone and gets lost in the forest. Hannes, Uwe and Renate go on a search together and finally find them. Renate has a photo shoot with Harry the next day and thus misses an appointment with Hannes, who is now finally convinced of the end of the relationship.

Ilse, Mucki and Babs have now arrived at the future bride Eva in Wendlingen. The skirt that was ordered but not delivered is still missing for her wedding dress. Mr. Zwicker, who is supposed to get the skirt, breaks down and is picked up by Hannes, Annie and the horse and cart. They bring the skirt together to Eva, where Hannes hopes to see Renate again. However, she drove with Harry directly to the wedding church, where she and Hannes finally meet again and can clear up any misunderstandings.

In the meantime, Hannes has learned that his grandfather did not want to sell the horses, but acted out of financial difficulties: He paid for the treatment of Annie's mother and, in the process, got into debt with farmer Schwarzer. Hannes asks his boss for the money as a donation so that he can work for him again. The grandfather gets his horses back and Hannes and Renate become a couple for good.
