action

Heinz Gruber, called Heintje, is an orphan and lives with his aunt Monika Klausen. Her fiancé Günter Schelle is a thorn in the side of the boy, he wants to deport him to the home. In the meantime, Heintje has made friends with the riding stable owner Alfred Teichmann, who treated Heintje very roughly at the beginning, but has a good heart and is amazed at his singing skills and lets him sing on tape. Teichmann tells Heintje that he should become a singer, to which the boy replies that he would rather be a jockey. When Heintje loses his key, there is an argument between Schelle and Teichmann. Shortly afterwards Schelle actually manages to get Monika Klausen to deport Heintje to a home. Hanna Schwarz, who was once engaged to Alfred Teichmann, is dealing with the case at the youth welfare office. When she confronts Heintje with the new facts, he tries not to let his sadness show. In the stable with the horses he sings Mamachi, give me a horse . When he asks Alfred Teichmann whether he could stay with him, he has to say no, but he does not feel very comfortable. Teichmann is about to go on a vacation trip with his demanding girlfriend Gerdi Weber.

During a hike, Heintje moves away from his class and runs away. Since Alfred Teichmann described his vacation route to him, Heintje follows in his footsteps. On the way, the gangsters Harry, Hugo and Else use him for their own purposes, he is supposed to smuggle a certain package, radioactive cobalt , across the Swiss border for them , which they hide in his travel bag without his knowledge. When no one appears at the agreed meeting point, Heintje continues on to Teichmann. When he finally finds him, both are very happy. The other day, Teichmann informs Hanna Schwarz by telephone that Heintje is with him. When the head of the youth welfare office interferes in the conversation and attacks him unjustifiably and Hanna Schwarz agrees, Teichmann is so upset that he decides to keep Heintje with him for the time being. His girlfriend Gerdi then says goodbye to him and says he has a blast. When Heintje discovered the parcel in his travel bag and showed Teichmann to it, he immediately figured it out and went to the police with the boy to deliver the parcel. There he is told that he is wanted. When the officer left the police station for a short while, Teichmann and Heintje left the police station.

When Harry and Else stop at a gas station and hear Heintjes singing, they follow Teichmann and the boy. In the meantime, Hanna Schwarz has also arrived in Switzerland because she is very worried. She tells Teichmann about the cobalt and then begins to cry. Teichmann happily acknowledges that she was not only afraid for Heintje, but also for him, and takes her in his arms. Meanwhile Harry and Else are with Heintje and ask for the parcel to be handed over. When Teichmann and Hanna Schwarz come back on the boat, Harry stands across from them and blackmails both of them that they would only see Heintje again if the cobalt was returned. When the exchange was supposed to take place, Hanna Schwarz prepared everything so that the duo could be arrested by the police. The three of them then start their onward journey. Hanna Schwarz and Heinz Teichmann decide to get married, also to be able to adopt Heintje.

Reviews

“An orphan boy neglected by his aunt is put in a children's home, runs away from there, is abused by smugglers for transport purposes, is wanted by the police and finally found by the child welfare worker. She marries the boy's fatherly friend, a rich, affectionate riding stable owner who adopts the boy. A sentimental story without any realism, enriched with a bit of humor and sappy hits. The then children's singing star Heintje should "mercilessly touch the heart and soul." "

“A simple storyline, eight sensibly built-in songs and partners such as Heinz Reincke have made a solid German family color film that goes straight to the heart and soul of both the six-year-old and his ancestor. Anyone who does not expect more from a film will be well served here: Heintje, how he sings and plays. "

“Tears run down, sometimes you can laugh and then they run down again. Grandmas, children and everyone who thinks that this is how life could or should be, will be enthusiastic. Waiting for the voice to break. "
