Konrad Georg

Konrad Georg (born December 25, 1914 in Mainz , † September 8, 1987 in Hamburg ) was a German theater , film and television actor.

Life

After finishing school in Mainz, he initially wanted to become a priest, but eventually decided to pursue an artistic career. Konrad Georg completed his training from 1934 at the drama school of Dr. Hoch's Conservatory in Frankfurt am Main . In 1937 he stood on a stage in Bremen for the first time.

Georg achieved great popularity in Germany as the Federal German serial investigator Commissioner Freytag in the crime series of the same name. He was also known as Charles Ross, the head of an unspecified government agency in the two street sweepers Tim Frazer (1963) and Tim Frazer - The Salinger Case (1964), which were created from scripts by British author Francis Durbridge . The title role was played by Max Eckard .

He died of lung cancer on September 8, 1987 and was buried in the Nienstedten cemetery in Hamburg.

His son is the cameraman Michael Georg, with whom he later worked on Derrick and Der Alte .
