Okay SIR was a German evening series that was first broadcast in 1973 and 1974 in various regional programs on ARD .

action

Biggy and Conny are two young women working in a special Europol department in Munich. Your superior is called SIR: S for security, I for information, R for law. Their assignments take them to various European countries, in some cases even to North Africa, where they deal with girl traffickers, drug smugglers or jewel thieves, criminals who don't shy away from murder. Although SIR usually operates from a desk, in some cases it has to actively intervene in the fight against crime itself.

background

The series was a production by Bavaria Atelier GmbH on behalf of Rundfunkwerbung Stuttgart GmbH. It consisted of 32 episodes of 25 minutes each, directors were Michael Braun (17 episodes), Marran Gosov (9 episodes) and Dieter Lemmel (6 episodes), the theme music was written by Klaus Doldinger . The scripts were written by more than a dozen authors (see episode list).

In the intro you heard the same wording in all episodes: “Brussels: This is teeming with European authorities. This is new. It is the supranational association of the security organs of the European states - EUROPOL. The underworld knows no borders for a long time and is constantly developing new methods - unfortunately. So there are always crimes against which the usual methods of the police are not the right means. For such cases, Europol did not call on everyday employees. Unconventional employees with unconventional methods. For example us: Biggy, Conny, and our boss is a lady, her name is SIR: S for security, I for information, R for law. "

Europol was still a fiction back then: the European police authority of that name was only created in the course of the 1990s.

The shooting took place in different European locations, as it was already known from some previous series such as Count Yoster gives himself the honor or Percy Stuart . But while in the adventures of the smart millionaire's son who is fighting for his admission to the Excentric Club, Spanish actors, mostly unknown in this country, were often used, the names of the guest actors at Okay SIR sometimes read like the “Who's Who” of the time Actor Guard.

The television Encyclopedia calls the series a contemporary witness , "because the clothes of the leading ladies for that time on TV was really unusual," and also attracts far as comparisons with the US series Charlie's Angels , which two years later on US television on the air went . As part of a theme evening at the German TV Museum in 2001, which dealt with programs that must have been made under the influence of drugs, an episode of the series Okay SIR was shown.

Episode list

Regarding the first broadcast, only the broadcast dates of the then Süddeutscher Rundfunk could be determined. After that, the individual episodes were obviously not broadcast in the order in which they were produced and the series was not - as suspected by the crime website - shot in two seasons. It remains unclear why it took more than five months after the broadcast of the first episode before the other episodes were broadcast on a weekly basis.

In the second column of the list below, the serial number of the production is given.
