Karl Schwetter

Karl Schwetter (born January 18, 1914 in Vienna , † April 26, 2002 there ) was an Austrian actor and film production manager .

Life

Schwetter studied law and attended the Academy for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. He became an actor and appeared on stages in Czechoslovakia, the Netherlands and, since an engagement in Leipzig in 1938, also in Germany.

After the war he was seen in several films as a supporting actor, such as the strict commandant in Die Deutschmeister . In 1956 he became production manager at the Sascha film industry , for which he made numerous comedies , several times with Peter Alexander , until production stopped in 1966. He stayed with Sascha Film until 1967 and became head of production at Schönbrunn-Film in 1968 . As such, he mainly worked for television and occasionally worked as an actor in television productions.
