occupation

Season in Salzburg (reference title Wenn der Toni mit der Vroni ) is an Austrian comedy film from 1961 with the main actors Waltraut Haas and Peter Alexander . It is based on the operetta of the same name by Fred Raymond , which was filmed under the same title in 1952 .

action

Since the three actors Heinz Doll, Toni Mack and Hans Stiegler are not involved, they respond to an advertisement in which a waiter, a porter and a lift boy are wanted for the inn "Zum Blaue Enzian" .

Heinz, Toni and Hans do their unusual tasks to the satisfaction of their boss Theres Stolzinger. For the lift boy Hans and the food carrier Toni, luck also seems to be waving in private - the chambermaid Vroni throws Hans amorous looks and the cook Walpurga always has something to eat for the hungry Toni.

The charm of waiter Heinz also shows its effect on the beautiful landlady. But that has already happened in Dr. Elz a staunch admirer. When Annemarie, the landlady's pretty stepdaughter, arrives at the inn from the hotel management school, the feelings of everyone involved get mixed up and a happy ending hardly seems possible. It is only when Heinz and Annemarie go on a joint excursion to the Grossglockner that they both realize what they feel for each other.

Production, background, publication

The first assistant director was Gaudenz Meili .

For film comedies of this kind, it is somewhat unusual that the “dream couple” is not recognizable at an early stage, but that the main actor Peter Alexander vacillates for a long time between two likable courtiers (Waltraut Haas and Ingeborg Schöner). Waltraut Haas said: "At the time, many people regretted that I never got Peter Alexander in the film or in life." A self-deprecating allusion to the dream couple Haas / Alexander can also be recognized in the film by the fact that Peter Alexander was a special qualification for the Place as head waiter his already existing acting experience in Im Weisse Rößl (1960) as head waiter Leopold (the landlady there was also Waltraut Haas).

The German premiere took place on October 27, 1961 in Hamburg. The film was released in the Netherlands on December 21, 1961 under the title So lacht und kisses man in Tyrol , in Denmark under the title Sæson i Salzburg on July 30, 1962. The international title is Season in Salzburg .
