Raoul Retzer (actually Raoul Richard Karl Pollitzer , born May 22, 1919 in Vienna ; † August 8, 1974 there ) was an Austrian actor .

Life

Retzer was already on stage at the age of five and played at the Burgtheater and the Volkstheater . Only two years later, in 1926, he made his film debut in Der Rastelbinder under the pseudonym Janko . He was a soldier throughout the Second World War . In 1947 he continued his acting career as an adult.

He first appeared in revue stages and cabarets such as the Simpl . Since 1952 Retzer played in the film. Often unnamed, he acted in an immense number of minor and minor roles, mostly in comedies directed by Franz Antel . Retzer embodied servants, servants and police officers, sometimes crooks. He also acted in a similar capacity in numerous television films and series. In 1962, on the sidelines of the filming of the film , Mimi never goes to bed, he caused a scandal when he apparently hit Harald Juhnke out of jealousy during a dinner . Despite a great deal of involvement in film, television and theater, Retzer was so impoverished at the moment of his death that his long-time director Antel went to gather among his colleagues for Retzer's funeral.

He was buried in the Hütteldorfer Friedhof in Vienna (1-G54).
