Schlagerrevue 1962 is an Austrian musical film fun play from 1961. Directed by Thomas Engel , a number of singers popular in Germany and Austria from the early 1960s appear.

In a popular revue theater with numerous pop musicians and singers, the dress rehearsal for the next revue premiere is taking place when the bailiff bursts in and wants to seize everything that can be turned into money. Accountant Valenci has taken precautions and hid the little money that is still available as a precaution in the magic box of the in-house illusionist. Finally, counterfeit money also comes into play, and when everything is finally supposed to go under the hammer, it is Ferdinand Sander, the loyal admirer of Steffie von Beckessy, the director of the revue theater, who can finally buy everything back at the auction. The whole thing is garnished by numerous hits from those years.
Production notes
Schlagerrevue 1962 premiered in Germany on December 22nd, 1961. The Austrian premiere took place on March 1, 1962. It was the last classic German or Austrian hit film that had the word "Schlager" in its title.
The two main actors Erika Remberg and Gustavo Rojo were married to each other at that time.
Reviews
Paimann's film lists summed up: "... with a poor subject, modest presentation and choreography - mainly illustrated hits by the actors and singers, of which only a few stay in the ear (...) Friends of modern hits get their money's worth."
