Heinz Neubrand

Heinz Neubrand (born July 5, 1921 in Vienna ; † January 6, 1998 there ) was an Austrian musician ( piano , Hammond organ , vibraphone ), composer , arranger and orchestra conductor.

Live and act

Neubrand learned to play the piano as a child and studied piano, composition and music theory in Vienna . In 1933 he made his debut at the Wiener Konzerthaus. He attended the master class with Emil von Sauer . In 1939/40 he appeared as a solo pianist in Jacques Guldan's Colosseum and also had engagements in Germany. After completing his military service and the end of World War II, he had his own program ( German Made Easy ) on the army broadcaster Blue Danube Network and played with various Viennese jazz and easy listening orchestras, among others. a. in the Vienna Hot Club.

Recordings were made a. with Erwin Halletz ( Turn on That Red Hot Heat ), Horst Winter (1946, Who knows? Who knows? Who knows? ), Karl Loube and in 1949/50 under his own name ( Intimate bar music on Austroton ), with a new brand on the Hammond organ. From 1949 to 1953 he worked for the station Rot-Weiß-Rot , as well as for music productions at the Vienna Volksoper . In the following years he composed music for over 400 cinema and television films, as well as for jingles for the ORF broadcaster . He worked u. a. with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and their own big bands. Through his love for Barpiano the shellac series was intimate bar music .

Honors

Neubrand was assigned an honorary grave in the Vienna Central Cemetery . A plaque is dedicated to him at the Hotel zur Post in Gumpoldskirchen .
