action

Helga Held is the rising star in the German figure skating sky. Shortly before the freestyle in the German championship, however, she collapsed under the pressure and withdrew from the public. Her mother Käthe announced that Helga would never put on ice skates again. However, this does not prevent banker John Michael Markus from offering sports organizers Willy Barsch and Arnold Klappe the prospect of financing their ice revue if they can hire Helga Held for their revue within a week. Both men fail because of Käthe and her categorical no. Helga Held will start a new job the next day anyway.

Willy Barsch and his nephew Heinz Normann recognize a loophole in Markus' contract offer. Nowhere is it stipulated that Helga Held should skate. The contract also does not say that Helga Held must be the figure skater. Without further ado, both hire a Helga Held for the ice revue, who happens to work as a costume designer and can therefore equip the revue. With the help of a lawyer, Willy and Heinz formulate a telegram to Markus, in which they announce Helga Held's commitment and demand a first deposit for the ice review. Heinz has the telegram from the young woman at the post office counter in his hotel in Villars - who is the real Helga Held. She is confused because she thought she was staying incognito at her uncle's hotel. To be on the safe side, she calls herself Helga Kürti. Heinz is taken with the beautiful woman and invites her on a trip. Both spend time in the swimming pool and later in the mountains, where Heinz teaches her to ski. He also saves her life and both get closer. On the return flight, Helga wants to know what the ominous Helga Held is all about, and Heinz confesses to her half the fraud that ensures the financing of the ice revue.

Arnold Klappe has meanwhile sent his secretary Barbara Lang to Villars as a spy. She sees the costume designer Helga on the ice and realizes that it must either be a hoax or that Helga Held has lost her talent. Arnold Klappe sees his chance and convinces Markus that he has been lied to. They travel to Villars together. Here Willy Barsch believes that everything is lost. He wants to convince the costume designer not to show themselves to Markus and Klappe when suddenly Helga Held appears in the room and is greeted effusively by the costume designer as her namesake. Only now does Heinz realize that he was with the real Helga Held the whole time. Finally, she steps on the ice in front of Markus and Klappe and thus saves Willy Persch. Arnold Klappe announces revenge and has Helga Held kidnapped on her way to Geneva. The premiere of the big ice revue is to take place in Geneva in the evening. Heinz succeeds in stopping the kidnapper's car with the police and on skis and freeing Helga. She finally reaches Geneva on time and appears in the ice revue. The final picture of the revue shows her and Heinz fittingly as the bridal couple on the ice.
