Buy yourself a colorful balloon is a German-Austrian music comedy and mix-up comedy from 1961. The film opened on January 19, 1961 in the cinemas of the Federal Republic of Germany .

action

Inge, the niece of the ice rink owner Hermann König, should continue to pursue her ice skating career according to her uncle's will, but has something else in mind: she really wants to be a singer at theater revues.

A mix-up gives Inge the chance to get a leading role in the revue on which the existence of the theater depends.

The indebted theater director and the owner have decided under contract that the theater should only continue to exist if the revue, in which the owner's unmusical and no less inconsiderate wife plays, becomes a flop.

Due to the mix-up and the commitment of Inge, however, the revue has the greatest chance of being a success. After a scandal in the premiere and calls for encores from the audience, the owner throws the theater crew out.

The set painter and ice hockey player Hans Haller, who fell head over heels in love with Inge, had the idea of turning the show into an ice skating revue without the knowledge of the ice rink owner.
