The man who seeks himself is a German fiction film by director Géza von Cziffra from 1950. It is a musical crime comedy about the theft of jewels.

action

The singer Victoria Miller is admired not only for her voice and her beauty, but she also has a valuable treasure trove of jewels. A secret lover prevents her from marrying a dubious gentleman and steals her jewels. As a detective, he is now pursuing himself and playing the imitation jewels into the hands of the crook. When he is finally arrested, his adored singer comes to his aid because she has recognized his good intentions. He is freed from her, so that nothing stands in the way of marriage.

Production notes

The film was shot in the Hamburg-Rahlstedt studio. The outdoor shots were taken on the Côte d'Azur , on the Nebelhorn , in Travemünde and on the Reeperbahn . The film was funded by the brothers and textile entrepreneurs Peter and Michael Margaritoff. Herbert Kirchhoff was responsible for the buildings, the production and manufacturing management was in the hands of Michael Margaritoff and Hans Mühlberg. It premiered on August 18, 1950 in Frankfurt and other cities.
