Life

Paul was one of the most successful pop singers of the 1950s after Walter Jenson discovered them in 1945 at the Crusader Club in Hamburg. She often performed with Bully Buhlan . In addition, she took part in several films, in which she was also used as a singer several times. As a member of the islanders , she also made a name for herself as a cabaret artist. With the advent of rock and roll , Paul's career stalled towards the end of the decade. She married a scientist and moved with him for a while to the USA , where she was mostly a housewife and mother. During this time, however, she took part in three American films and also made some records.

After her return, she tried to continue her career in Germany, but could no longer build on her old successes. In Wenn die Heide blooms , a crime and homeland film shot in 1960 , she was seen as Joachim Hansen's partner . She appeared in various nostalgia programs on television until the 1980s, but then withdrew into private life.

Today Rita Paul lives secluded in Berlin.
