Hans Leibelt
Hans August Hermann Leibelt (born March 11, 1885 in Volkmarsdorf , † December 3, 1974 in Munich ) was a German actor .
Life
Born as the son of a teacher near Leipzig, he trained as a textile merchant after leaving school. Only then did he take acting lessons in Leipzig . From 1903 he played on various stages in Eisenach , at the Leipziger Schauspielhaus , in Darmstadt and Munich. In the 1920s he came to Berlin and played there for a long time at the State Theater .
In 1923 he made his first film, Mysteries of a Hairdressing Salon , after which he was frequently hired for supporting roles. He often played fathers, uncles, diplomats and directors, probably because of his stoutness - as in 1944 in the film Die Feuerzangenbowle, director Knauer, known as "Zeus". Later he spoke the Saxon miniatures of the Feuerzangenbowlen author Hans Reimann for the speech plate .
After the Second World War he was seen at the Deutsches Theater Berlin and the West Berlin Renaissance Theater, among others . Due to the poor supply situation in the post-war period, he lost a lot of weight, so in 1946 he was able to depict the emaciated painter Eckmann in the DEFA rubble strip Somewhere in Berlin . After he had gained weight again, he played in many entertainment films such as The Black Sheep or Max, the Pickpocket . In 1962 he received the gold film tape for many years of outstanding work in German film. In the same year he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit. It was not until 1970, at the age of 85, that he ended his career.
After the death of his wife, the former Ufa star lived with the actress Hilli Wildenhain, a daughter of the actor Bernhard Wildenhain , since 1950 ; He spent the last years of his life in a retirement home in Munich. His ashes were buried in an urn grave (H-22) in Munich's Ostfriedhof ; the grave has been abandoned since 2017.
