action

The coffee house owner Paul Perlacher is a real disgust. He not only bullies his family (sister Trude, daughter Inge, son Alex), but also his tenant, the piano teacher Amalie Hartung, her nephew Hannes and the piano students. Perlacher wants his tenant, who is also quite resolute, to move out because of the disturbance of the peace and he even dragged her to court - but without success. Even the guests in the coffee house he runs have to suffer from the pedant's outbursts and never come back. To make matters worse, Perlacher's daughter also falls in love with the nephew of the “rebellious” tenant. Both play in the same jazz band.

Perlacher cannot be taught until he ends up in front of the cadre himself for insulting a police officer (the famous Goethe quote from Götz von Berlichingen ) and is sentenced to prison. Since his tenant Amalie unexpectedly campaigns for Perlacher at the court hearing, insulting the judge, she is also sentenced to several days in prison. Both are released on the same day and, reconciled, go to Perlacher's coffee house. In the meantime, daughter Inge and her admirer Hannes Hartung have taken care of the orphaned restaurant and are in the process of modernizing it and converting it into a location with dance and music performances by her band. Perlacher is initially pessimistic, but now that business has got off to a good start, nothing stands in the way of general reconciliation.

Film music

Willy Hagara sings the Charleston hit:

It can be spring, summer, winter. It can be morning, noon, or evening. I always have time for beautiful women. No way is too far for me for beautiful women. It can be black, blonde, red. She just has to be tender and she has to be alone. "

In addition, the singer with the song Man Loves can only be heard once .

criticism

“A harmless, exhilarating nonsense, tailored to the famous Heinz Erhardt. The high-contrast, fast change of scene increases the enjoyment of the funny game, which becomes increasingly silly. "

“With all the appreciation of the comedian Heinz Erhardt, it must be noted that his acting volume is not sufficient to play exactly the opposite of what he is. His compromise between innate cheerfulness and filmed 'disgust' has the odor of a sulky, permanently insulted liver sausage. Erhardt breathes a sigh of relief when he is finally allowed to bring out Mr. Perlacher's good core. "
