Oskar Schnirch
Oskar Schnirch (born September 19, 1902 in Bautsch , Moravia , † April 5, 1995 in Munich ) was an Austrian cameraman .
Life
He came to Wiener Kunstfilm in 1918 as Jakob Fleck's assistant camera and apprentice, and two years later he was responsible for making his first documentary. From 1937 he lived in the German Reich.
Schnirch was behind the camera in numerous entertainment films in the 1930s and 40s . The only exception in this respect is his work on Georg Wilhelm Pabst's post-war first novel The Trial in 1947 . After the war he lived in Munich and was able to continue his career in German film. Film comedies , hit films and homeland films remained his preferred profession. After his 60th birthday, he only made television films before retiring into private life in 1970. His urn grave is in the Grünwald forest cemetery .
