action

It has been some time since the famous surgeon Stefan Selby divorced his wife Käthe in favor of a much younger woman. Unlike in most cases, the separation went without a fight. Meanwhile, Stefan has married a second time: the spirited and attractive Danica. Käthe lives with her twin daughters Gerda and Toni in the old area. The friendship with her childhood friend, the musician Paul Martens, has been revived. He would be only too happy if Kathe married him now, but she always demands time to think it over.

One day, in an emergency, Stefan is called to the bedside of the oriental princess Fatme. He succeeds in saving the lives of the little ones. Not only is the foreign monarch delighted about this; Stefan is also proud and would like to celebrate his deed with his wife. But she prefers to go dancing with the painter Mario. When a picture with the faces of Stefan and the little princess appeared in the newspapers the next day, the doctor was drawn back to his divorced wife. He would now like to toast his success with her. Even if both realize that their divorce was a mistake, the status quo remains .

There is Danica, who despite her escapades wants to keep her husband, not for the sake of love, but because of the glamorous life at his side. Gradually, however, she becomes aware that Stefan is slipping away from her more and more. After a few moments of delay , the divorced spouses find each other again. Danica moves abroad with her painter.
