action

The world-famous violinist Nils Ascan is returning to his hometown Korby for the first time in 15 years for a concert. Here the love for his former girlfriend Helga, who now works as a head nurse in a hospital, rekindles. Ascan persuades Helga to go with him for a new life by his side. Against all the intense warnings from her friends and colleagues, she opts for Ascan and against her position in the hospital.

After a short time, however, her best friend Agnes is struggling with her life after attempting suicide. Helga feels jointly responsible for this incident and, despite Ascan's violent protests, rushes back to the hospital. She assists in the successful operation. Helga realizes that her place is on the medical team and decides not to return to Ascan, but to stay in the hospital.
