Wilfried Seyferth

Wilfried Hermann August Seyferth (born April 21, 1908 in Darmstadt ; † October 9, 1954 near Zeilsheim ) was a German actor .

Life

Wilfried Seyferth was born as the son of the doctor Eugen Seyferth (1877–1952) and his wife Carola (1886–1971) in the Steinbergviertel in Darmstadt. He attended the Ludwig-Georgs-Gymnasium in his hometown. He studied medicine for three semesters and then received artistic training at the drama school of the German Theater in Berlin . There he made his debut in 1929 and then went to the Schauspielhaus Frankfurt .

In 1936 he returned to Berlin and played again at the Deutsches Theater under the direction of Heinz Hilpert . He also made guest appearances at the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna . The compact actor has also stood in front of the film camera several times since 1933.

In 1946 he went to the Schauspielhaus Zürich for three years , followed by an engagement at the Münchner Kammerspiele . Guest appearances have taken him to the Salzburg Festival , the Heidelberg Castle Festival and the Ruhr Festival . Seyferth acted mainly in classics by Shakespeare , Lessing , Chekhov , Gogol and Shaw .

In the 1950s he took on the role of villain in film several times. He played Nazis in the two US productions Decision before Dawn and Des Teufels Erbe , and Major Luschke in the German soldier film 08/15 .

Seyferth died as a result of a car accident. He was married to the actresses Tatjana Iwanow , Irene Naef , Lu Säuberlich and Eva-Ingeborg Scholz . His son from his marriage to Tatjana Iwanow, Andreas Seyferth , also took up the acting profession.

Wilfried Seyferth was buried in the old cemetery in Darmstadt.
