Viktor von Struve
Viktor von Struve , born Viktor von Struwe , (born November 2, 1892 in Riga , † January 4, 1964 in Wiesbaden ) was a German- Baltic film producer .
Life
Struve, who was a neighbor of Sergej Eisenstein in his childhood , studied art history in Riga . In 1919 he fled to Berlin in the turmoil of the revolution , where he founded a small publishing house for art literature. From 1924 Struve tried his hand at writing, and in 1928 he came to film as an interpreter . He looked after Russian-speaking actors who were engaged in Berlin, including Ivan Mosjukin .
With the beginning of the sound film, he worked as an assistant director in films by Gregor Rabinowitsch and Noé Bloch , mostly assisting the director Anatole Litvak . After the seizure of power by the Nazis in 1933, he worked under the UFA -Produzenten Max Pfeiffer and Bruno Duday .
His path into film production began as a multiple production manager for the Euphono company. In 1938 Alfred Greven brought him to Terra . Until the end of the war he was involved in various films in the company as a production group leader. In 1945 Struve founded the theater group Künstlergemeinschaft Bad Ischl with the actors Paul Kemp , Theo Lingen and Siegfried Breuer , which was active until 1947. After that he was again responsible as production manager, and from 1950 he ran his own production company based in Wiesbaden.
