Bruno Duday (born March 14, 1880 in Sieradz , Russian Empire , † January 31, 1946 in Berlin , French occupation zone ) was a German film producer .

Life

He attended the military academy in Königsberg since the late 1890s and began an officer career in 1899. Duday was a war participant in World War I and rose to the rank of major in a Uhlan regiment until 1919 .

The now unemployed then tried his hand at commercial professions, including at a bank in Regensburg . He made contact with the film industry and began working as a production manager for UFA in 1930 . In this role he was involved in numerous UFA productions until 1939, including prestige projects such as B. To new shores with Zarah Leander . In 1939 he left the UFA at his own request and became an officer again in World War II. In the final phase of the war, Duday entered the service of UFA again without any further consequences. After his internment, he died as a result of the poor prison conditions in Berlin-Tegel . He was married to the Hungarian actress Maria von Tasnady for the third time .
