action

The unemployed engineer Fred (Heinz Rühmann) has an interview at the Ringler automobile works and at the same time has to take the oath of disclosure in court. His friend Willi takes over the court date in his place, but is arrested immediately at the request of Justizrat Feldacker, Berlin's most famous lawyer. Meanwhile, Edith (Dolly Haas), the car manufacturer's spirited daughter, has to appear in court and is sentenced to a suspended sentence for repeatedly violating traffic regulations. Furious, she rushes off with Feldacker in the sports car and knocks Fred over. Although Fred will soon be fine, in order to get revenge on Feldacker he pretends to have lost his memory. In the meantime, Edith and Fred enjoy each other and also find a solution to cover up Edith's renewed involvement in a traffic accident: Fred does not have to testify in court if - he is married to the defendant.
