Jessie Vihrog

Jessie Vihrog (born October 19, 1907 in Kimberley , South Africa , † January 1, 1996 in Berlin ) was a German actress .

Life

Her father worked as a farmer in the Boer state and came to Germany at the beginning of the First World War, where she grew up in Leipzig and Eisenach .

She made her acting debut in Leipzig in 1921. In 1927 she came to Berlin, made contact with the theater world there through her colleague Anne Kersten and got an engagement at the Barnowsky Theaters . From 1931 Jessie Vihrog stood regularly in front of film cameras.

After the Second World War, the artist, who was also active as a sculptor, could no longer find a connection to film and the stage, got married and retired into private life.

Jessie Vihrog's nephew is the actor Frithjof Vierock .
