Don't talk to me about love is a film drama and a love story by director Erich Engel from 1943. The literary film adaptation is based on a novel by the Bohemian writer Hugo Maria Kritz . In the main role , Heidemarie Hatheyer plays the painter Pamela Keith, who moves to Munich because she hopes for a breakthrough in her career there.

The ambitious, young painter Pamela moves to Munich to present her paintings to the public and earn a living with them. The experienced painter Andreas Alwin soon became aware of her works and decided to support Pamela in her work and with her works. The two soon get very close personally. As a result, however, Pamela overestimated her talents and talents when she willingly accepts a larger order: it concerns the wall paintings to be created in a newly opened bank .
To make matters worse, Pamela suddenly throws eyes at a young man. Andreas does not agree with this development and as a result, her relationship with Andreas breaks. However, when Pamela is suspected of having copied someone else's picture, the young man breaks off all contact with her out of respect for his class.
The film ends well when Pamela decides that in the future she will only accept orders that she can manage within the scope of her possibilities. As a result, she returns to Andreas.
Production notes
Filming began on January 21, 1943 and ended in April of the same year. The highest mountain peak in Germany, the Zugspitze, served as the filming location . Hermann Buchrucker worked as a still photographer, while Hans Sohnle was responsible for the film construction together with his assistant Max Seefelder .
Release dates and different film titles
One does not talk to me about love was premiered on September 17, 1943 in Munich . The film was shown in Berlin's Germania Palace on October 1, 1943. In Finland it was shown in cinemas on May 7, 1944 under the title Älä puhu rakkaudesta .
Film censorship
The Nazi regime checked the film as part of the film censorship that was customary at the time for any content that might be detrimental to the regime. On August 9, 1943, the film was released with the attribute youth ban under resolution B.59235 with restrictions.
