Hotel Adlon (film)
Hotel Adlon is a German biography by the Berlin luxury hotel of the same name and by Hedda Adlon from 1955 . Directed by Josef von Báky .
action
The story of the legendary hotel from the point of view of Paul Rippert is told in episodic order. This young man came to the Hotel Adlon in 1907, immediately after it opened, and began his career as Piccolo and Page . He witnessed how Kaiser Wilhelm II opened the luxury hotel and soon after met the young hotel employee Ninette, who eventually became his wife. High-ranking personalities stay at the Adlon as well as sinister characters. An assassination attempt on the Russian Tsar Nicholas can just be prevented, and a little later the First World War breaks out.
The rulers come and go, monarchs and heads of government spend the night in the Adlon, while Rippert gradually climbs the career ladder. Eventually the hotel founder and family patriarch Lorenz Adlon dies - a new era begins. In the decades of his work at the Adlon, Rippert experienced both happy events and tragic moments from some guests. For example, there is a dancer who indulges in amorous adventures during war, or the cunning thief who makes the house unsafe. With the onset of the Nazi era , Rippert had to face completely new challenges. He experiences the Olympic Games of 1936 as a particularly exciting time for the company. Shortly after the end of the war in 1945, the house burned out completely. The new beginning turns out to be extremely difficult for Rippert, who has been promoted to hotel manager.
