In 1920 he returned to the Berlin capital, where, in addition to cinema engagements as a silent film actor, he also worked as a stage actor in the 1920/21 season at the Wallner Theater and in the 1921/22 season at the Berlin Thalia Theater, which he took over as director in 1922. In the 1923/24 season, Poremski worked as deputy director, actor, singer and senior director of the operetta at the theater in the Admiralspalast. In addition to numerous theater engagements and radio play productions in the 1940s, he began working again increasingly as an actor in film and, from the end of the 1950s, as an actor on television.

In the 1960s he was only seen sporadically in the cinema, such as in the romantic comedy Divorce: Love by director Cyril Frankel . Since the mid-1960s, his focus was increasingly on television.

In addition to his work as a singer and actor, Erich Poremski was also active as a spokesperson for various radio play productions and film dubbing. He lent his voice to numerous foreign colleagues, especially in the 1950s and 1960s. Among other things, he spoke roles in films such as The Thief of Baghdad , Kim - Secret Service in India , You should be my lucky star , curtain up! , Lady and the Tramp , The Bridge on the River Kwai or Mutiny on the Bounty .
