Förster Horn was a thirteen-part, black and white television series of 25 minutes each directed by Erik Ode from 1966, which was set in a forester's house in the Taunus .

The film was shot in and around Bad Schwalbach , but the Hundekehlefenn forestry in Berlin was used for the exterior shots of the Horn'schen Forsthaus . The script was written by Gerhard Biller and Dieter Werner .

Forester Horn is passionate about his job and lives in the forester's house with his sister Elisabeth. The consequences revolve around professional and private experiences, happy family celebrations and good-humored holiday guests - but the forester also has to deal with dangerous situations in the forest.

In addition to Heinz Engelmann in the main role of the forester, Alice Treff played his sister Elisabeth. Mattner , the forester's assistant, was played by Horst Keitel and the factotum Martha by Alice Lach . Also played: Eva-Maria Werth , Klaus Münster , Heidrun Kussin , Friedrich Schoenfelder , Erik Ode, Joachim Mock , Lutz Moik , Steffi Ronau , Hans Deppe , Heinrich Gies and Rainer Brandt .

The series Förster Horn was one of the most popular early evening series in the ARD regional programs in 1966 and came in 2nd place in the annual ranking, and 9th the following year.

The series was commissioned by ARD , and the series was produced by Neue Filmproduktion Franz Thies (today: Neue Filmproduktion). It was repeated on Nord 3 in the mid and late 1990s and on hr television in 2009. It has been available on DVD since the end of September 2009.
