Alice Treff

Alice Martha Treff (born June 4, 1906 in Schöneberg ; † February 8, 2003 in Berlin ) was a German actress and voice actress .

Life

The daughter of the chamber musician Paul Treff and his wife Emilie Martha, b. Berg was born in his parents' apartment at Feurigstrasse 70 in Schöneberg. She first attended business school and then completed an acting training at the Max Reinhardt School in Berlin. This was followed by theater engagements in Darmstadt, Bremen, Munich, Vienna, Berlin and Hamburg. She had great success in plays by Edward Albee and Jean Giraudoux .

In 1932 she made her feature film debut in the production of Peter Voss, the Thief of the Million . Afterwards Alice Treff was seen in over 150 film and television productions. She played alongside Heinrich George in the sensational process Casilla , directed by Helmut Käutner in In those days , alongside OE Hasse in Canaris , alongside Horst Buchholz in the Thomas Mann film Confessions of the impostor Felix Krull , in the Edgar Wallace film The Black Abbot , in the multi-part history series The winter that was a summer according to Sandra Paretti and the family saga Jauche und Levkojen according to Christine Brückner . Her last film appearance was in 2001 at the age of 95 in Joseph Vilsmaier's Leo and Claire .

In addition, Alice Treff has worked extensively in dubbing since 1939 and lent her voice to prominent fellow actors such as Bette Davis (The Naked and Where Love Leads) , Ruth Gordon ( Rosemary's Baby and Harold and Maude ) , Jessica Tandy ( The Birds ) and Lotte Lenya (as James Bond opponent Rosa Klebb in Best wishes from Moscow ).

Her written estate is in the archive of the Academy of the Arts in Berlin.
