Horst Keitel

Horst Keitel (born June 22, 1928 in Meisdorf ; † November 6, 2015 at the latest in Berlin ) was a German actor and voice actor .

Life

Keitel got his first engagement as a stage actor in Heiligenstadt in 1946 , where he remained under contract until 1951. Other theater stations were Greifswald , Altenburg , Berlin and Hamburg . In addition, Keitel worked extensively for film and television; he achieved great popularity in particular through his series roles. He played the linguist and casual agent Homer Halfpenny in 13 episodes of the Förster Horn series as well as in 39 episodes of the crime series On behalf of Madame . His best-known role was that of the weird lawyer Reginald Prewster as the minder of Percy Stuart ( Claus Wilcke ), whom he accompanied in 52 episodes on his adventures, which he hoped to be accepted into the exclusive Excentric Club. For the latter role, Keitel received a Bambi in silver in 1970 .

Keitel also worked regularly as a voice actor. He was the German voice of John Carradine in Jesse James and Revenge for Jesse James and of " Q " ( Desmond Llewelyn ), James Bond's trick specialist , in On Her Majesty's Secret Service . Keitel was also active as a radio play speaker (including in Kleine Hexe Klavi-Klack ).

Horst Keitel was married to Herta Kravina , with whom he often appeared on stage together. The couple was found dead in their apartment in Berlin-Charlottenburg on November 6, 2015. After the police investigation, it was assumed that they had committed suicide.
