Joseph Bates
Joseph Bates (* 8. July 1792 in Rochester in New Bedford , Massachusetts ; † 19th March 1872 in Battle Creek , Michigan ) was a ship's captain , teetotalers and social reformer , milleritischer lay preacher and co-founder of the Free Church of Seventh-day Adventist Church .
Joseph Bates of the most important preacher who was Sabbath doctrine among the Adventists . After adopting the Sabbath in March 1845, he managed to convince many Adventists of the Sabbath, including Hiram Edson , FB Hahn , ORL Crosier, and James and Ellen G. White .
