James Springer White
James Springer White ( August 4 , 1821 , Palmyra , Maine ; † August 6, 1881 in Battle Creek , Michigan ) was a cofounder of the Seventh-day Adventists and husband of Ellen G. White . He is considered to be the father of the christological interpretation of prophecy . James White was the second President of the General Conference (world church) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (by John Byington) of 17 May 1865 to 14 May 1867. He took over twice the mandate of 18 May 1869 to 29 December 1871 and August 10, 1874 to October 6, 1880. James White was also a teacher , traveling preacher, and author .
