Cyril Frankel

Cyril Frankel (born December 28, 1921 in Stoke Newington , London , † June 7, 2017 ) was a British film , television and theater director .

Life

Cyril Frankel's film debut Man of Africa (also known as Kigusi Story ), shot in 1953, was nominated for the 1954 Cannes Film Prize, but was only released in cinemas in the United States years later . Cyril Frankel's repertoire included comedies , dramas , crime films , agent thrillers and also horror films .

His television career began in 1965 with six episodes for the crime series Gideon's Way, which is very popular in the English-speaking area, and until 1986 he shot episodes for twelve different television series , some of which were also appreciated in the German-speaking area: No pardon for Guardian Angels , UFO , Gene Bradley on a secret mission , Jason King , Randall & Hopkirk - Detective Agency with Spirit , With Umbrella, Charm and Melon or The Baron .
