A woman named Harry is a German comedy film from 1990 .
action
Harriet is a middle-aged woman who just doesn't succeed. It doesn't work at work and it doesn't really work for men either. So Harriet decides to put an end to her life with sleeping pills. Her last words are: I would give my soul to be a man. The devil hears this and makes the following proposal to Harriet: He will turn her into a man if she surrenders her soul to him. The next morning Harriet goes to the toilet and finds that something crucial has changed. She is now a man and calls herself Harry from now on.
Suddenly everything is going easier for Harry, he's making a career in the job and he's also had extraordinary success with women. Even his best friend Katharina forgets that Harry is actually her friend Harriet. But over time, Harriet gets tired of being a man. She asks the devil to reverse the deal. The devil agrees, and Harry becomes Harriet again. At the end of the film, Harriet and Michael find each other.
criticism
“Coarse comedy aimed at a young audience and the marketing of Thomas Gottschalk's 'star fame' in the tradition of shallow German cinema fun games; a film of a particularly silly kind. "
