Stephanie Beacham
Stephanie Beacham (born February 28, 1947 in Barnet , England ) is a British actress .
Life
Stephanie Beacham grew up in Hertfordshire as one of four children. She went to Queen Elizabeth's Girls Grammar School and later she went to Boulogne-Billancourt in Paris to learn pontomiming with Étienne Decroux . At the age of four she learned ballet , who has been completely deaf in the right ear since birth and only has 70% hearing on the other . As a teenager she danced in Paris before studying at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London . Beacham actually wanted to teach deaf children to dance. Before starting her acting career, she gave dance lessons to talented youngsters.
She has been in front of the film camera since the 1960s , including in television series and feature films that are known to this day . From 1985 to 1987, she played alongside Charlton Heston and Barbara Stanwyck in the series The Empire - The Colbys , an offshoot of The Denver Clan , the role of Alexis' scheming cousin Sabella "Sable" Scott-Colby , which her to worldwide popularity. Personal
In 1973 she married the British actor John McEnery . Shortly after the wedding, Beacham became pregnant and miscarried from a fall. The couple separated in 1979, but only got divorced over ten years later. The marriage resulted in two daughters: Phoebe (1974) and Chloe (1977). In 2000, Beacham became the grandmother of a boy named Jude. In 2009 she developed skin cancer, but was able to fight it. In 2011 the cancer returned but was cured again. Also in 2011 she published her autobiography Many Lives . Beacham has been dating and engaged to former doctor Bernie Greenwood since 2008. In 2016, Beacham first spoke publicly about the fact that she was raped in the early 1970s. In addition to English, she is fluent in French and Spanish. In her spare time, she enjoys writing stories for children and making miniature dolls furniture.
