Renate Danz

Renate Danz (born May 12, 1934 in Berlin ; † 2006 ibid) was a German actress and voice actress .

Life

The daughter of an editor and translator attended ballet school while she was still at school and took acting lessons from Herma Clement from 1952 to 1954 . In 1951 she gave at the Hebbel Theater in Berlin her stage debut as Margaret James Matthew Barrie St. John's Eve . Engagements at numerous Berlin theaters followed.

Although Renate Danz gained experience in front of the camera in the production of Schlagerparade as early as 1953 and made her feature film debut a year later in Falk Harnack's novels by a gynecologist , her appearances in film and television were rare. Apart from film roles such as alongside Walter Giller in Hans Quest's comedy The Big Chance and in Tom Toelles A Summer - An Autumn , Renate Danz was mainly in television productions of classic originals and stage dramas such as Jean Giraudoux 's Madman of Chaillot or William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing . She also took on guest roles in television series such as the SFB crime series Direktion City .

Since 1953 Renate Danz has also worked extensively in dubbing. Since 1956 she was the German standard speaker for Shirley MacLaine . In addition, she has given her distinctive voice to numerous famous colleagues such as Brigitte Bardot ( The Great Maneuver ), Kim Hunter (in the Planet of the Apes films), Geraldine Chaplin ( The Four Musketeers ), Barbara Eden ( Flaming Star ), Shirley Jones (as the mother of the Partridge family ), Lee Remick ( Omen ), Stephanie Beacham (including the Denver clan ), Jean Marsh (as "Rose" in Das Haus am Eaton Place ) and Lily Tomlin (including Nashville ). In the animated series Kimba, the white lion she spoke the parrot “Pauly”. She is also known as the voice of Puschel, the squirrel in the cartoon of the same name. She also worked for a long time as a radio speaker.
