Takayo Fischer

Takayo Fischer (born November 25, 1932 in Hardwick , California ) is an American actress who is active both in front of the camera and on stage.

Life

Fischer played in her first play, The World of Suzie Wong , in 1958. The performance took place in New York .

Fischer began her career as a film actress in 1978 in the television series Battle of the Planets , for which she played for two years.

For the next ten years she was mostly seen in other television series until she first appeared in a movie with Dad in 1989 . For Tea , which was also performed in New York in 1987, she was on stage again. The piece was performed in San Diego the following year , and later in Syracuse from 1991 to 1992 .

In the following decade, Fischer also appeared mainly in productions that were limited to the national level, especially television films, such as Kids for Cash from 1994.

After the turn of the millennium, Fischer was featured in several more well-known American television series, such as Emergency Room in 2001 or in Scrubs in 2005 . From then on, she received numerous supporting roles in internationally known and financially successful film productions, such as the literary film adaptation War of the Worlds , the template of which was laid by HG Wells . In the same year, 2005, she appeared again in a novel adaptation, this time in one that was based on a more modern model, namely The Geisha . In The Pursuit of Happiness Fischer played the apparently Asian kindergarten teacher of the son of the protagonist Chris Gardner, who was played by Will Smith . She was also engaged for the sequel to the pirate film Pirates of the Caribbean - Curse of the Caribbean 2 . Most recently, Fischer was again increasingly seen in television series, such as 2009 in Weeds - Small Deals Between Neighbors .

Private life

Fischer is the daughter of Chukuro and Kinko Tsubouchi. She has been married to Seymour Fischer since November 1980 and has three children with him.
