Showdown in Little Tokyo is an American action film starring Dolph Lundgren and Brandon Lee as two Los Angeles cops .

In the “Little Tokyo” district of Los Angeles , the yakuza rule with brutal violence. Drug trafficking, prostitution and racketeering are the order of the day there. The cop Chris Kenner, who grew up in Japan , opposes the mafia organization and its boss Yoshida. He is supported by his new partner, the young cop Johnny Murata. For Kenner, the fight against Yoshida is also a personal matter, because Yoshida once murdered Kenner's parents when he was a little boy. Together with his partner Johnny, Kenner lifts the entire organization and can bring Yoshida to her knees.

Reviews

Kevin Thomas wrote in the Los Angeles Times on Aug. 26, 1991 that the movie should please action fans.

Vincent Canby described the film in the New York Times on September 22, 1991 as "violent but mindless".

The lexicon of international films wrote that the film was "a very cruel, lavishly staged action film in which violence and vigilante justice become a sporting adventure".

• It was the first leading role of Brandon Lee in an American film.
• A body double was used for Tia Carrere's nude scene .
• The German FSK 18 video version was shortened by a good 20 seconds. The DVD version is uncut. The film is at Warner Bros. released.
