Stuart Baird

Stuart Baird (born November 30, 1947 in England , United Kingdom ) is a British film director , film producer and film editor .

Life

Stuart Baird began his career in the film business as an assistant editor in the early 1970s. In 1973 he was involved in a television adaptation of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde -Stoffes worked as independent editors for the first time. In 1996 he made his debut as a director with the action film Lonely Decision . Baird - who directed his third film with Star Trek: Nemesis in 2002 - was thus the first director of a Star Trek film outside of North America.

Baird has received two Oscar nominations for Best Editing , in 1978 for Superman and in 1988 for Gorillas in the Fog .
