The Forgotten - The truth never dies (Original title: The Forgotten ) is an American television series that was produced from 2009 to 2010.
As ABC announced at the annual Upfronts, the series won't get past a season of 17 episodes.

A group of volunteers is dedicated to solving murder cases in which the victims could not be identified and are not the focus of police investigations. The nameless dead tell their own story off- screen, while they watch the investigations of the amateur detectives from beyond. Some of them are intrigued by the challenge, but others are in some way involved in an unsolved crime that has plagued them for years.

The 45 minute episodes were developed by Mark Friedman and produced by American producer Matthew Carlisle.
In the US, the series first aired on September 22, 2009 on ABC. After episode 15, which was broadcast on March 9, 2010, ABC suspended the series because of bad ratings. The last two episodes aired in the summer of July 3, 2010.
The German free TV station kabel eins has been broadcasting the series in German - speaking countries since September 9, 2010.
