Nathan Hope is an American cinematographer and television director .

Life

Nathan Hope began his career in 1999 as a cameraman for Nice Guys Sleep Alone . In 2000 and 2001 he took over the camera work for the films God's Army III - The Decision , Hellraiser V - Inferno , Protocol of a Sex Addict and Mimic 2 . For the Fox - action series Fastlane (2002-2003) he made 19 of the 22 episodes produced. In addition to working as a cameraman for the two independent films Rolling Kansas and American Angels (both 2003), he wrote and directed the short film Lucky in 2005 . In the same year he shot the horror film The Fog , which is a remake of the 1980 film of the same name by John Carpenter . In the crime series CSI: Vegas he was responsible for the camera for a total of 22 episodes from 2003 to 2007 and directed two episodes of the series in 2008 and 2009. In 2004 and 2005 he received the American Society of Cinematographers Award in the category Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography in Regular Series and was nominated in this category in 2007. He wrote the screenplay and directed the thriller Small Town Secret (2009) starring Anna Kendrick , Paul Wesley and Tania Raymonde .

In 2009 and 2010 Hope shot the two pilot episodes for Dark Blue and Miami Medical and in the following years directed several episodes of various television series such as Cold Case - No Victim Is Ever Forget (2009-2010), CSI: NY (2010-2012), Nikita , Body of Proof (both 2011) and Cult (2013). Since 2016 he has been involved as a director on the series Lucifer .
