Paul Wesley
Paul Wesley (born July 23, 1982 in New Brunswick , New Jersey ; real name Paul Thomas Wasilewski , Polish Paweł Tomasz Wasilewski ) is an American film and television actor of Polish descent .
Life
Paul Wesley was in on 23 July 1982 New Brunswick in the US state of New Jersey and grew up in Marlboro Township on. His parents, Agnieszka and Thomas Wasilewski, had emigrated from Poland to the United States shortly before he was born . He has an older sister, Monika, and two younger sisters, Julia and Leah.
Since 2004 he has appeared under his pseudonym Paul Wesley.
His interest in acting began to develop in 4th grade when he was participating in a summer program for those interested in art and theater . He made his debut in 1999 at the age of 17 in the long-running soap opera Springfield Story . Since then, the young actor has been constantly in front of the film camera . One of his most famous roles was that of Tommy Callahan in Everwood , which he impersonated in nine episodes. He starred as Stefan Salvatore in the fantasy series Vampire Diaries since September 2009 , which aired on The CW until March 2017 , but then ended after 8 seasons. In 1999, Wesley appeared in an anti- tobacco commercial aimed at teenagers .
His hobbies are ice hockey , snowboarding and playing guitar . Wesley continues to have interests in film directing and screenwriting .
He lived in Atlanta , Georgia in Los Angeles , California while filming the Vampire Diaries and on hiatus with then-wife Torrey DeVitto . However, he sold his Los Angeles home after his divorce in late 2013.
Wesley was married to the American actress Torrey DeVitto since April 2011 . At the end of July 2013, the two announced their divorce. From 2013 to March 2017 he was dating the actress Phoebe Tonkin , whom he met in the Vampire Diaries .
