Tell Me a Story (English for Tell me a story ) is an American psychological thriller - anthology series by Kevin Williamson , which is based on the Spanish series Cuéntame un Cuento and how these fairy tales are adapted into modern times. The first season premiered on CBS All Access on October 31, 2018, and the second on December 5, 2019. In Germany , the first season was released on TVNOW on May 1, 2020 , the second on September 1 of the same year.

action

While the five-part Spanish television series Cuéntame un Cuento presented a different fairy tale in each episode, Tell Me a Story adapts three thematically related fairy tales per season (mainly by the Brothers Grimm ) into stories that run parallel throughout the season.

season 1

The first season adapts the fairy tales The Three Little Pigs , Hansel and Gretel and Little Red Riding Hood in Tales of Crime, relocated to New York City :

The three little pigs : while Jordan Evans and his newly fiancé Beth are choosing rings, three robbers in pig masks storm the jeweler , with Beth being fatally shot. Because, in his opinion, the police are doing too little to arrest the perpetrator he has identified, Jordan decides to seek revenge himself.

Hansel and Gretel : When the drug-addicted go-go dancer Gabe and his colleague meet a man in a hotel room, he is accidentally killed. Gabe calls his sister Hannah for help and together the siblings have to flee.

Little Red Riding Hood : After her mother died, 17-year-old Kayla and her father Tim moved from Los Angeles to live with their grandmother, Colleen. When Kayla sneaked out with her new school friend and went to party in a nightclub , she met Nick Sullivan and had sex with him. The next day at school, he turns out to be her new substitute teacher.

season 2

In the second season, which takes place in Nashville , the three princess fairy tales Beauty and the Beast , Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty are adapted. It revolves around the family of Rebecca Pruitt, mother of a son and two daughters who correspond to the princes of fairy tales.

Beauty and the Beast : Country singer Ashley Rose Pruitt survived an attack by a car bomb at the release party for her album, but is disfigured by burn scars. The police officer Beau (French for "the beautiful") is placed at her side as a bodyguard.

Cinderella : The often drunk guitarist Jackson Pruitt falls in love with Simone Garland, who has to assert herself against her stepfamily after the death of her father.

Sleeping Beauty : Maddie Pruitt's fiancé, author Tucker Reed, addresses his sleep problems by capturing and drugging a young woman who he lies in bed next to. After she escapes, she turns the situation around.
