Harry Shum junior
Harry Shum junior (born April 28, 1982 in San José ) is a Costa Rican dancer and actor working in the USA .
Career
Shum's parents come from Guangzhou (Canton) in southern China and emigrated to Costa Rica for economic reasons, where he and his two older sisters were born. When Shum was six years old, the family moved to San Francisco , United States .
Harry Shum appeared in dance films such as Stomp the Yard and Street Style as well as in the role of Cable in Step Up to the Streets and its sequel Step Up 3D .
From 2009 to 2015 he played the student Mike Chang in the US series Glee . Along with the rest of the Glee cast, Shum received the Screen Actors Guild Award 2010 for Best Acting Company in a Television Series - Comedy . In 2011 , 2012 and 2013 nominations in this category followed.
In 2010 he danced in The Saturdays' music video Higher
Since 2016 he has played in the television series Shadowhunters , based on the books by Cassandra Clare , the bisexual warlock Magnus Bane.
Private
In November 2015 Harry Shum Jr. married the actress Shelby Rabara in Costa Rica , to whom he was engaged from October 2014. On November 11, 2018, the couple announced that they were expecting their first child together.
