Screen Actors Guild Awards 2011

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 17th US Screen Actors Guild Awards , presented each year by the Screen Actors Guild in film (6 categories) and television (9 categories), took place on January 30, 2011 at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center . In contrast to the Golden Globe Award , for example, the so-called SAG Awards only honor film, television and ensemble actors and are a yardstick for the upcoming Oscar awards. The winners are chosen by the members of the Screen Actors Guild, which one must belong to to work as an actor in the United States .

The nominees were announced on December 16, 2010 at Los Angeles' Pacific Design Center's Silver Screen Theater by actors Rosario Dawson and Angie Harmon . In the United States, the ceremony was broadcast live on cable networks TNT and TBS .

The American actor Ernest Borgnine was honored for his life's work .
