Jonathan Del Arco (born March 7, 1966 in Uruguay ) is an American actor and lesbian and gay activist with Uruguayan roots.

Life

Since Jonathan Del Arco played more with dolls and behaved like a girl in his childhood , his parents sought out a psychiatrist who should help him become more manly. However, Del Arco did not change his behavior, which is why he was later bullied during his school days .

When Del Arco was ten years old, his parents immigrated to the United States with him . There they lived in Port Chester , a town in New York . Del Arco later moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. In Los Angeles he discovered his passion for politics and social engagement . He worked on many campaigns including some of the lesbian and gay movement .

Del Arco began his acting career in New York City on Off-Broadway . There he met his partner, who died of AIDS in the 1980s . Jonathan Del Arco first appeared on television in 1987 on an episode of Miami Vice . Until 1997 he was mainly seen in guest roles, including Wonderful Years , Spaceship Enterprise: The Next Century and Pacific Blue - The Beach Police . Further engagements in Star Trek followed between 2001 and 2002 . In 2003 he appeared in three episodes of Nip / Tuck as Sofia Lopez . After further appearances in Crossing Jordan - Pathologist with Profile , 24 and Die Sopranos , he was in 40 episodes of The Closer as Dr. To see Morales . He has been playing this role in its spin-off Major Crimes since 2012 .

Jonathan Del Arco is openly gay .
