Jonathan FW Tenney (born December 16, 1961 in Princeton , New Jersey ) is an American theater and film actor.

Life

Tenney was born in Princeton , New Jersey, where he also spent his childhood. He has been fascinated by acting since early childhood, so that he repeatedly practiced theater plays in high school. During his studies at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie , where he majored in drama and philosophy , he repeatedly tried his hand at theater. He got notoriety and fame through various film projects, especially through his marriage to the film actress Teri Hatcher on May 27, 1994. Tenney and Hatcher have a daughter (* 1997), their marriage was divorced in March 2003.

From 2005 to 2012 Jon Tenney starred as Kyra Sedgwick's series husband Fritz Howard in the TNT series The Closer . After Sedgwick's exit and the simultaneous end of the series, he embodies this role in his spin-off Major Crimes as a recurring character. In 2013, he starred alongside Rebecca Romijn in the TNT series King & Maxwell . Since 2014 he can be seen in a recurring role in the series Scandal .
