Six under one roof (original title: Get Real ) is an American family series from 1999 with a total of 22 episodes. The series marked Anne Hathaway's breakthrough as an actress.

Mitch ( Jon Tenney ) and Mary Green ( Debrah Farentino ), who have known and loved each other since high school days, live with their three children, 17-year-old Meghan ( Anne Hathaway ), 16-year-old Cameron ( Eric Christian Olsen ) and 15-year-old Kenny ( Jesse Eisenberg ) and Mary's widowed mother Elizabeth ( Christina Pickles ) under one roof. Since the coexistence of three generations is not always easy and the three children slowly develop into adults, conflicts are inevitable in this series. Meghan, a good student, goes through a rebellious phase and refuses to go to college, Cameron is going through puberty and Brother Kenny is slowly beginning to become interested in the opposite sex. Mary doubts the domestic happiness and reveals herself to her mother Elizabeth.

Six under one roof ( Get Real ) was a highly acclaimed series that ran from September 8, 1999 to April 12, 2000 rather unsuccessfully on Fox in the US, so that the series had to be discontinued after only 22 episodes. Episode 21 and Episode 22 remained unaired in the US because the series was withdrawn from the program early. The German first broadcast ran from December 3, 2002 to December 31, 2002 on VOX .
